World-class athletes visit Spotland 🥇 - Friday 3rd July 2026

On Friday 3rd July, Spotland had the pleasure of welcoming Paralympic gold-medallist Ayaz Bhutta (wheelchair rugby) and World Relay bronze-medallist Joe Ferguson (200m sprint).

The children listed to Ayaz and Joe speak about how they have overcome difficulties in their careers to make it where they are, as well as learn about what it takes to be a world-class athlete.

Ayaz and Joe then took different classes for a workshop based around their sport. The children were thrilled to have the athletes visit and loved learning about the careers of Ayaz and Joe.
